Sahara Refund Portal: On July 18, 2023, the Indian government initiated the Sahara Refund Portal. After this, many investors have hope to get their money back. To reclaim the funds stuck in Sahara India, investors must have some essential documents, which they need to submit on the refund portal to receive their money back.
Your money stuck in Sahara India will be returned to you through the Sahara Refund Portal after submitting the required documents. The portal was launched by the Union Minister Amit Shah. This portal will facilitate the return of investors’ money stuck in various schemes of Sahara. To access the Sahara Refund Portal’s link, you need to visit the official website of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. All investors will have to upload their banking, identification, and investment-related documents on this portal.
What is CRCS Sahara refund portal?
On March 29, 2023, the Supreme Court of India issued an order in response to an application by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, to resolve and eliminate all complaints related to the payment of matured deposits of investors in Sahara India’s cooperative societies. As per this order, an amount of 5000 crore rupees will be transferred from the ‘Sahara SEBI Refund Account’ to CRCS (Cooperative Refund Claims System) for the payment of valid dues of genuine depositors of Sahara Group’s cooperative societies.
In compliance with this order, the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, initiated the Sahara Refund Portal. This portal is created to facilitate the refund claims by the investors of Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.
Investors in Sahara will have to complete the entire refund process online through this portal, which will involve valid and authenticated claimants and documents.
Investors or authentic claimants of all these cooperative societies of Sahara Group are required to complete the Sahara Refund Claim process by visiting the official website of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, which is cooperation.gov.in. They need to submit all the claims online in one go and also upload the necessary documents requested on the same portal.

To apply for a refund on the Sahara Refund Portal, investors need to follow these steps:
- Go to the Sahara Refund Portal’s official website and click on “Investor Registration.”
- Enter the investor’s Aadhar card number and the mobile number linked to Aadhar in the provided empty boxes and click on “Get OTP.”
- Enter the received OTP on your mobile and click on “Verify OTP.” After verification, you will be successfully registered on the portal.
Once your registration is complete, you can log in to the Sahara Refund Portal and claim your refund. Please note that all claims must be submitted online on the portal, and the necessary documents requested must also be uploaded on the same portal.
The documents required for Sahara refund include:
- Deposit account number
- PAN card and Aadhar card
- Membership number
- Mobile number linked to Aadhar
- Certificates and deposit/passbook

- To log in to the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal, go to the official website of the refund portal and click on “Investor Login.”

Now, enter the last four digits of your Aadhar card and also provide the mobile number linked to your Aadhar.

Click on “Get OTP” to receive the One-Time Password (OTP). Once you receive the OTP, enter it and verify it to complete the login process.

Now, fill out the claim form with all the necessary information, including proof of your investment. You need to combine the claims for all the societies.

If your total claim amount is INR 50,000 or more, provide your PAN card number as well.

After filling in all the details, verify the information for all the societies because once you submit the claim, you won’t be able to add a new claim.

After verification, download and print the claim form. Attach your latest passport-sized photo and also put your signature on the form.

Now, upload this claim form again on the portal and submit your claim.
Once you have successfully registered, you will receive a message with the application number and date of application. Within 30 days of this application date, the respective society will provide their recommendation, and your claim will be verified by them.
After verification by the concerned audit authorities, the amount will be transferred to your linked bank account within 15 days of availability.
