What is MUDRA loan and how to apply MUDRA loan 2023

MUDRA loan: This is a Government scheme for entrepreneurs to boost their businesses. The Modi government is giving a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh to set up a business as MSME.

Many government schemes are being run by the Government of India to reduce the rising unemployment in the country. Efforts are being made to connect the youth with employment through schemes like Skill India, PM Skill Development Scheme, and Startup India.

The government is also providing an opportunity for interested individuals to start their own business. But starting a business requires primary capital, and without which it is difficult to start any type of business.

The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, run by the Central Government to encourage unemployed or interested youth of the country towards employment, has completed 8 years. Under this scheme, loans up to Rs 10 lakh are given to start non-corporate small enterprises in rural areas. So far, loans worth Rs 23.2 lakh crore have been disbursed to 40.82 crore beneficiaries. The scheme has provided employment to 1.12 crore people.

What is MUDRA Loan?

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a financial assistance scheme of the central government under which loans up to Rs 10 lakh are given to start a business.
Mudra Yojana is being run to motivate the people of the country towards employment so that with its help, employment is created in the country and unemployment is reduced. Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, loans are given by commercial banks, RRBs, small finance banks, MFIs, and NBFCs.

Under this scheme, three types of loans are given (Shishu, Kishore, and Tarun).

Step 01. Select Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana Application Form from the menu.

Steps 02. Visit the SBI official website emudra.sbi.co.in:8044/emudra and click on ‘Proceed’.

Steps 03. Enter the required details like the applicant’s Aadhar Card for eKYC purposes through UIDAI, as the e-KYC and e-sign need to be completed through OTP authentication for loan processing and disbursement.

Steps 04. Once the SBI formalities and loan process is completed, the applicant shall receive an SMS that will state to initiate the further process by revisiting the e-MUDRA portal.

Steps 05. This process needs to be completed within 30 days after the receipt of the SMS of loan sanction.

The interest rates are deregulated and the banks have been advised to charge reasonable interest rates within the overall RBI guidelines.

How to Apply for MUDRA Loan?

You can approach any of the lending institution commercial banks, RBS, small finance banks, MFIS, and NBFCs. And can apply online through this portal www.udmimitra.in

Steps 01. Visit the UDYAM Mitra portal to apply for a PM MUDRA loan online.

Steps 02. Now go to the MUDRA Loan section on the homepage and click on it.

Steps 03. See Apply for MUDRA Loan and click on ‘Apply here for Registration’

Steps 04. Choose your category – New Entrepreneur, Existing Entrepreneur, or Self-Employed Professional.

Steps 05. Now enter your Name, Mobile Number, and GMail ID and click on ‘Generate OTP’

Enter the OTP which you have received on your mobile number and click on verify.

Steps 06. Now feel your personal details and business details then click on save & submit.

Your profile was created successfully.

Steps 07. Now see the loan application center option and click on ‘Apply Now’

Steps 08. Now select your loan category (Shishu, Kishore, and Tarun) and click on ‘Apply Now

Steps 09. Now enter the required loan amount as per your category.

Steps 10. Feel the business information and other required information.

Steps 11. Attach and upload PoA, PoI, applicant photo & signature KYC documents.

Steps 12. Read the declaration form and click on the check box and accept I Agree button then click on the ‘Submit My Details’

After submitting the form, wait for the loan approval and when your loan process is complete, you will get the loan sanction successfully.

The business should be either one of the following:

  • Small manufacturing enterprise
  • Shopkeepers
  • Fruit and Vegetable vendors
  • Artisans
  • Activities allied to agriculture, e.g. pisciculture, beekeeping, poultry, livestock, rearing, grading, sorting, aggregation agro industries, diary, fishery, agriclinics, and agribusiness centers, food & agro-processing, etc. (excluding crop loans, land improvements such as canal, irrigation, and wells).
